Quick Tips
The key choice that makes or breaks in this hotel is the room category. Space, here within these Singapore heritage buildings, comes at a premium. Standard rooms are mostly windowless(NO VIEW) or have small internal windows facing corridors. If you’re claustrophobic or simply need natural light to wake up, you’ll have to specifically book a superior or deluxe room WITH WINDOW. Even then, keep your expectations ready; the rooms will be just about as wide as the bed itself so either pack very light OR use soft-sided luggage which can collapse down into whatever little space remains.
Have your breakfast at their Rooftop Terrace. The food is mainly simple continental and local dishes but the view is where the real value lies. A clear line of sight to Marina Bay Sands’ distinct silhouette together with the skyscrapers of the financial district, this has got to be one of the best “free” views from a budget hotel in this area. Bring your own drinks up there later in the evening to enjoy with the breeze before heading out to hit the clubs.
Minibar is also complimentary. Usually, free bottles of water are placed in the room on a daily basis together with other soft drinks- sodas and juices. In a city where a can of coke at a convenience store can easily cost between 2-3SGD , this is small but important cost saver.(sg) Be warned though about the climate; yes the walk from MRT to hotel is short but singapore`s humidity! The aircon in this hotel works perfectly well however you need to put your key card for it to work hence if u want come back into cool room ask reception(if available)for spare card(power slot).
